Fangi0
So what we are saying is we really have a good line up this year with some great drivers, all different, with varying strengths/tempraments and if the cars are reasonably close in performance it could be a great season Maybe I will get Sky after all. jeff oakley
One of the things that makes agood driver is being in the right place at the right time to exploit their talents. Some teams are better than others technically and as a result the driver in that team has an advantage. Button had some bad advice in the early days and went to the wrong team, his fate was sealed until Brawn gave him a car that was a winner. In contrast Hamilton has never been in anything but a winning car and has failed to get the best out of it. Last year he lost heart and that is what sets champions apart they just keep on working and doing their best and never give up. I hope button does well, I would alos like to see De Rista in a top package and see if he has it.
robo1968
despise the way he won at least two of his titles Which "two" titles are you referring to? I can guess one of them is 1994 which I can partially understand but am at a loss as to the other?

I missed that! Given the other real incidents of note were 1997 (disqualified after finishing 2nd) and 2006 (2nd) I'm not sure!
lippydave
To post that you dislike an entire race, (the Germans), smacks of juvenile stupidity, low intelligence, lack of humanity and just f*cking idiocy to be honest.... If you can judge an entire nation's populace by dint of pure prejudice it smacks of a certaiin Mr Hitler (who incidentally was an Austrian...). Post something a little more reasoned and display some intelligence or shut up and F*ck off....
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
I lived/studied/worked for a year in Mainz, have to say I really like the country. The people I met over there were the same mix of decent people, kn*bs, dickheads etc. that you meet everywhere you go. (so I felt right at home ) Twenty odd years later, it's one of the few places I've lived that I still miss.

In terms of mentality, most Brits would be surprised to learn that we have more in common with the Germans than most other European nations. My wife is Dutch and the Dutch are brought up with an inherent hatred of the Germans, I upset her when we first met by talking to her in German..;o)) It took me a while to convince her that not all of the sausage noshers are evil Nazis who fry children for breakfast.. Incidentally most Germans aren't offended at all by the term Kraut.. I'm all for humour and the perpetuation of national stereotypes, but for someone to state they hate an entire nation is beyond the pale... Poking fun at one another based on national characteristics is a bit of fun, hatred is something different. I'm a proud Englishman and love to poke fun at my Scottish, Welsh, Irish, German, Dutch etc etc friends for being stereotypically tight, sheep-sh*ggers, p*ssed up eeejiots,non-thinking rule obeying robots, weed smokers and more..but it is given and taken in jest....and understood as such by both sides. No place for uninformed, dim witted racial hatred anywhere IMNSFHO! Dave "Inselaffe" L
Rab (bombero) Reid
I agree with very much what you have to say, but you don't have to be German to be offended by the word k***t, as you don't have to be Italian to be offended by the word w*p, or Spanish with s**k. In our civilised, respectful and tolerant society certain words are considered offensive by to all. You're right - each nation has its fair share of idiots, d**kheads and ill-informed xenophobes! Fangi0
So, a great start tomorrow then. Argey bargey in the first corner maybe? My money is on Hamilton if he can just stay out of trouble. A tommy and a kr..sorry German on the podium?
M444TTB
You're probably right. I'm hoping Button hard edges him at the first corner or takes him at the lights though. I reeeeeally want to see Schumacher back on a podium. The top step, complete with the old Schumacher leap, would be just great if Button can't take it. I won't be upset at a Hamilton win though. davidgh
Dave "Inselaffe" L Now, that does try to offend -- but in ten years of working there I've heard of it being used only once -- in Borken (of all places).
Fangi0
If Schumacher can pull off podium finish tomorrow it will be a fantastic achievement and shut up all his doubters, including me, so good luck to him. As long as he behaves like a champion on a track should.

As long as he behaves like a champion on a track should. Very magnanimous of you and yes it would be great. I do think it unlikely thought as the car is hard on its tyres. Still it's good to see life in the old dog and he seems to be getting stronger and stronger. There have been a lot of doubters re his come back but it is starting to look like he was justified in his return. This year looks like it could be a great year for F1 with six would champs on the grid and some up and coming drivers driving very well indeed. F1 has not been this good for years.
