Aero Screen In The Rain!

Recommended Posts

Excellent. Waterproofs it is then. Anyone recomend me any good driving gloves, preferably warm but thin enough to have a good sense of feel for switchs etc..

For road use I like technical outdoor gloves, Extremities "Sticky Thicky" gloves being the current favourite: nice and grippy on the wheel, not too thick (despite the name), and good on switches. NOT waterproof though (although rain usually seems to get deflected away by the aeroscreen). About £15-20.

if your after rain gloves get gauntlet type gloves so you get no gap.. bike shops are the best place to start.. good choice would be

http://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/

do some cracking one piece suits, some good boots that are narrow enuff for driving narrow pedals and yet still dry as they are bikers boots. gloves are personal choice tho..

i bought the http://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/clothing/motorcyle-clothing/1-piece-suits/hein-gericke-competition-regeneinteiler-schwarz-gelb-silber.html

its been fine - has pockets too which is handy..

one chink in the waterproofing could be your neck.. as said - either a long fleecy snood [but itll eventually get soggy] or a waterproof one - the snood is nice mind you to keep warm.. as if its long enuff you can bunch it up and fill gaps under the helmet to thaw out your nose etc...

id like to try a cheap dry suit one day.. but thats a tad OTT.. lol 2 peice suit isnt a good idea.. in heavy rain it will leak. when it really gets heavy i use an extra cover over my lap as water tends to land on your lap first.

youd also need a place to put your valuables like fones, money etc.. you can buy those clear sealed pouches in walking shops which are really waterproof.. i use my fone as a sat nav so it sits on the dash.. in its bag... still see it in the rain without worrying.. if its in your pocket you get wet.. ruined fone.. money to repair.. pain... food freezer bags also work well - double bag at least

drill the seats defo!! use lots of car wax on the visor.. also i use black electricians tape to make a sunvisor on the top outside of the visor.. if you get direct sun you just have to nod your head very slightly down to cure that issue. tidy the tape ends and press it down firmly and it will stay on for years.

use elastic bands around your glove wrists to keep out water.. not too tight of course.. gloves over the suit.

takes a bit of getting used to driving in the rain without a screen mind you - try it out one day without motorways and big trucks... thats the motherload...
