The Crafty Carpenter
Well i am now officially a Westfield owner , after picking the car up yesterday and driving some 160 miles home. It was a very enjoyable if not bracing drive home, i had the roof on with no doors and had what i thought was a warm coat on!. I took the scenic route from Liverpool down through Shropshire, Hereford & Worcester then home to Gloucester, am quite surprised about the fuel economy with the 48's, was rather better than i expected!, the only down side to the one petrol stop was getting out the car in the garage!! oh dear i think i need to perfect that manoeuvre , had quite a few admiring looks and even a thumbs up from a biker on the M53, i didn't realise how much attention the car would get!.... So now I've got it what would you guys recommend as an upgrade from the factory spec? is there anything? the car will be used for road and track/sprinting. I mean most performance cars have a few weak points due to manufacturing budgets, this seems to have the engine and drivetrain sorted so i suppose that leaves the brakes, suspension and chassis, it has chrome wishbones, Spax shockers, not sure what springs or rates, and standard calipers/pads front and rear, the rack seems pretty responsive so i'd guess it's got a 'quick rack'. Any advice would be appreciated. Regards dave
Captain Colonial
Best advice you'll get - just drive it for the first year and enjoy the hell out of it. Then plan your upgrades over winter when you're more experienced with all things Westie. Really. Just have fun for now!

Dave the Sparky
Well done, you must have passed close by, I used to do that drive every Friday to Hereford from the NW, nice blat. Yes the attention is rediculous but very enjoyable, shows how bored everyone is with the same old square boxes. I did mention this the other day... PICS!!!!? And yes tinkering is inevitable....
