thos
Dropped my freshly built Honda S2000 engined car off at the dyno this morning. I stayed to give it a run in to check for leaks and set the oil pressure on the dry sump, all seems to be ok. Pressures temps all looked good. So I'm back at work now waiting for a phone call like an expectant father. I'm not even too pushed what power it makes - I just want it to be reliable! Rab (bombero) Reid
thos, if you've never been to one before, they're not for the fainthearted! Hope all goes well and it'll be interesting to see your figures - what's your general engine spec
s2k7
with all stock honda parts including the honda ecu, i remember putting 210 wrhp. i changed to AEM EMS, 4 to 2 and to 1 exhaust system, cold air intake and larger throttle body and picked up 22 more HP. i installed a 750cc siemen injectors, rotrex supercharger and boosted 8 psi with no intercooling and got 292 rwhp I installed an air to air intercooler & smaller pulley 95mm, boosted 12-14 psi, now @ 375 rwhp the smallest and the maximum pulley i can install is 90mm which I plan to test by summer, plan to clean the intake & thicker head gasket as well. thos
Phone call from My Dyno ... it's blown an oil hose off and has made quite a mess .... engine safe, but everything now covered in oil .... Spec'd with 400 series fittings & hose, but these engines do like their oil pressure .......

lloydox
sorry to hear that mate but at least the motors ok . all part of the shakedown i guess like captain said better to go there than out on track when the first you know about it is when you see a big cloud of smoke in your mirror and your engine toast they sorting it out and running it again for you? hope it all works out phil
mhc
Thos , I also had a few problems with the oil pressure being set too high when the oil was cold. Mine used to blow at the remote filter seal. I set my oil pressure at 85 psi when cold, with no excessive revs. When hot the oil pressure was only just 28 psi at 1200 rpm. Just give the engine enough pressure during the cam change hopefully between 3500 - 3800 rpm. If you see Pauls video at ty Croes you can hopefully see how much the pressure drops during the cam change. Good luck.
