lippydave
Evening, been absent for a few days.... Did a silly thing last Friday and fell off my horse whilst galloping across a field.....OUCH! Broke a few ribs and had the doc's a bit worried about my liver, spleen and a few other internal bits and bobs. They sent the helicopter out for me and I got to spend a few days in hospital being sedated and observed. Back at home now, a bit sore, but totally ok other than being annoyed with myself for being a pillock....(Guess I ought to be used to that...!).... Going back to work tomorrow, one of the joys of being self-employed... Anyway let the p*sstaking commence...... :d :d
Mark (smokey mow)
Fool, you should have stuck to cars and bikes, much safer than animals. I learnt never to trust anything that has a mind of it's own. Glad to hear you're ok

Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
Glad to hear you're back in the land of the living! Ribs take a while to knit back together, but at least you can still get round OK with 'em. Though after the first week or so, you do feel like punching all those Gits that deliberately try and make you laugh. So anyway, have you hear the one about the Irishman, the Englishman and... ...what too soon? Get well soon.

Norman Verona
Cracked ribs are painful, I sympathise. Get strong pain killers and keep as still as possible for as long as possible. I cracked 9 when I had my accident and sat in an armchair for 7 weeks popping paracetamol & codeine.

lippydave
Thank you all for the good wishes, it could indeed have been much worse.... Norm, I'm on the strong painkillers and sat quite still in my desk in the corner of the studio at work.... Laughing and coughing are the two most painful things...Oh, and trying to change the fan belt on my Shogun yesterday was a bit stupid too...

peterg
Ouch, reminds me of the time I had a fall between the pontoon and our motorboat, ended up at the hospital where the doctor said the X rays couldn't show them if the ribs were cracked or bruised but it didn't really matter as they hurt just as much either way... Coughing and laughing were painful but so was going for a dump Get well soon Dave and stop flogging old mares

Captain Colonial
Really sorry to hear about your injuries mate, must have been a real concern and could have been much worse, glad you'll get back to finding new and exciting ways to top yourself soon. Women, horses, cars and motorbikes all have three things in common - the ability to thrill, the certainty to make your poor, and the power to kill you. The first makes us blind to the the second and the third. Get well soon!
