Who Likes A Racing Stripe (Or Two)? ...and Got Any Pics?

I've currently got a bit of a black and yellow thing going on with the car (yellow body, black nose, carbon arches/wing protectors etc) and have been considering going a stage further by adding a black racing stripe or two.

Search throws up no similar threads, so just wondered if anyone had any pics they'd be prepared to post of well (or badly) executed racing stripes just to convince me that it'd be the right (or wrong) course of action?

Thanks in advance chaps.

This the kind of thing you're thinking of?

I'm not convinced about them, they were on the car when I got it, but suppose it breaks up the yellow somewhat....

Maybe Chappers will post up a pic or two, I always think his car looks good.

Are those photos at the nurbergring Greig?

See my avatar - I wanted something to make it slightly less 'yellow'. The stripes had the added benefit of covering up some crazing of the gelcoat on the bonnet. When I had the stripes done, it did seem to make the car look lower/wider.

not sure how thatll look, if your nose is black already....so the stripes will start where the bonnet meets the nose then? or are you thinking yellow tripes on black nose and black stripes on yellow rest?? either way not sure-

:t-up: for stripes. You could always edge the stripes if you wanted them to stand out more on the black nose, or use matt black?

With stripe: (150mm black and 5mm silver each side)

I was thinking the former - although the idea of edging might be worth considering further (especially having seen chappers' pics).

Ditto....see avatar....Although I've just done the 'cut the slats out of the ducted nose cone' thing and had the front of the nosecone sprayed blake.....looks really good IMHO.

I got the 'stripes bug' this winter. Went for white double stripes centre of bonnet and down the back too. Copied chappers idea of stripes over the roll bar! Then went mad and bought some side stripes (don't laugh) off ebay. My neighbour thinks it looks OTT now - Not sure I disagree really but somehow I just like them! Pic below - please no sniggers...
