Track Day Insurance

Does anyone know of a insurance company that cover single day track policies?

Already had quotes from Competition Car insurance, REIS and Heritage.

Any others worth trying?

I would use the search function but it doesn't want to let me.

I had a quote recently for £90 for a day, just an on-line search I forget who it was, I then found out that no one seems to bother (not usually required), excess is also very high..

dont know where youre considering going, but I was told by someone in germany about a guy who came off at the nürburgring...- defo dont want to be going there without insurance...

some guy came off, he claimed that he hit some fluid on the track (lots of people go there in bangers and dont come off but dump S*** over the track). so anyway he came off, took out a sponser board, and then hit the railings, smashed his car and spead pieces of car over the track... As soon as you do that they close the track and apparently charge you by the minute that its closed... then youve got the car recovery costs, not to mention your car costs as its in pieces... not sure of exact figures anymore, but think the car cost him something like 40k, and the nürburgring cost him something like 80k! MASSIVE MONEY!

for the sake of roughly 100quid I wouldnt risk losing everything....-

Normal UK trackday insurance covers damage to your own car and nothing else, insurance for the Ring is a totally different setup.

Most don't bother, especially in a Westfield; the most likely damage if you were to drop it would be wiping a corner off which would almost be covered by the excess anyway.

That said if you do want it, CCI would be who I'd have pointed you towards.

I have my road policy with REIS which provides cover for 4 trackdays as standard and I then also pay extra for individual policies that cover me for sprinting. IMO even with the excess it's a small price to pay for reassurance. I agree with Steve's comments as to the worst that could happen if you dropped it on your own, but a comming together with another vehicle or fire could see much greater damage or a total loss.

Another company you could also try is Adrian Flux, they had previously advised me they can provide track day cover as part of their policies.

Extremely rare to see two cars come together or have one go up in smoke although I was instructing an a Porsche turbo that went up at Mallory last year and I saw an MR2 burn out at Silverstone last Sunday so I guess anything can happen!
