Newbie From Swindon Looking For A Westfield!

Hi all

I'm Matt from Swindon. Hoping to buy my first Westfield when the right car car comes up. When I say comes up I mean again as I was too slow getting to this, which was seemingly perfect!

I currently have a BMW e36 as a very ratty track car and I was intending to plough loads of money into it. However constantly hearing about a colleagues MX5-based Westfield build got me thinking and I concluded getting one for myself was the way to go! Hopefully it will be faster in every respect and not actually be worthless if I need to sell up in a few years!

Well I'd say wait till some ones is finished, have a go in that and then see how you feel towards the MX based kit. But that could all depend on how long it takes to get that bonnet fitted

Sounds like a plan. Already been to the Cotswold meet a couple of times and I'll be there on Thursday to hear what Dave Gallop has to say about set ups. I'm also going Karting with the group in Swindon on 3 Mar which sounds like fun.

Incidentally, I've also booked up for my first track day at the local airfield at Hullavington on Fri 9 Mar. Only £99 sounds like a bargain. Any other Swindonites up for it?

I nearly booked that day but due to holidays and rust proofing the wishbones my first day will be Abingdon in May.

Provided it's not hoofing down, Jon Clancy and I are planning on bringing our Westies out for a formation blat up to the meeting on Thursday. First foray at night for me, so I just hope the goddess of automotive electrics is feeling in a benevolent mood that night!
