I'd join up but as an occasional user I can in no way justify the cost and I resent being extorted tbh.

Its a web forum, which occasionally hosts some interesting discussion. It's one of probably 20 I use on a reasonably regular basis.

Occasional or regular ???

It is a club that has a forum, not the other way round!

This type of posting is getting a little tedious now. Yes the format has changed, yes its a bit different, yes some functions aren't open to none payers. Yes the people who do pay still also supply advice, information and counselling ( p*ss taking) free of charge. Oh and we also pay for the maintenance and upkeep of the site so that none members can still get the info and then take a pop at the people who do pay. Getting a bit like the NHS, ****** it off and take the medicine. Maybe just a badly timed posting.

Bob

Maybe a bit strong but read the application rules etc and when ready pay the fee should you still wish to be part of this club. :(

Your type of posting is getting a little tedious.

I know the written word doesn't convey any feeling as it would during a conversation but there have been quite a few posts recently where people seem to be coming over as quite agressive because someone has not paid membership to the club yet.

Fair enough restrict access to the For Sale/Wanted section and maybe PM's it might be an idea to not allow you to search until you have registered and then have a limit on the number of searches unless you are a full blown member.

Where is the Chairman anyway? I sent him an email ages ago about something quite important and still have not received a reply.

This subject seems to to be even less important. If I was considering a Westfield now and read some of the replies in the post and the other one in this section I would be off looking at other makes.

It's hardly what I would consider to be "The best car club" anymore.

Not sure why you took umbrage as the comments weren't particularly aimed at you. There have been several threads recently from folk wondering why they haven't got this function or that. Basically you get what you pay for. You actually seem to agree in your comment so not sure why you appear to have thrown the teddy out.

We all have an opinion, or do we. If its not the best club anymore then how would you like it improving.

I know the comments weren't aimed at me I just am getting a bit sicked and tired of people just coming back with the old cliche of stick your hand in your pocket and pay don't be a scrounger.

It has certainly happened in the thread started by Lord Benny.

Surely I just did give some suggestions above about how to make it better didn't I? Well certainly the forum side of it.

I don't see any agression on the Board from paid members towards people who have chosen not to pay their membership. The same help and assistance is offerered to them if they need it as any paid member.

What I am seeing is an increasing number of posts from people who expect to get something for nothing and then whinge and moan when they can't have it. As has already been said, you get what you pay for.

Johnson,

You're probably right, but as Blatters used to say "have you done a search" before you ask an already asked question. Being rude is not particularly beneficial but having had a spate of similar posts having a bit of a pop at a decent although sometimes strenuously defended forum is unnecessary in my personal view. You have your view and I'm not going to enter into a slap off. I would rather encourage new members to search and then ask which ever way they can, I did when I started on this forum and kept my opinions fairly quiet until I became brave enough to post.

I thought my last line in that particulat post sort of summed it up, maybe I am misguided.

I pays my money and takes my choice and filter out any dross or none starters as I go.

Worth £20 a year? Absolutely!

1 post saved me £400, the tech info info is priceless.

Everything in life costs someone, something ,somewhere.

What's the problem with contributing.
