Snell standards used to expiry after 10 years, but I believe there was an issue/delay with the release of SA2010 and I expect my SA2005 Helmet to expire end of 2015.

Just to add that Motor Cycle helmets are not valid for car MSA approved motorsports (probably ok for track days as I don't think they check) and have read tey are designed for one big hit, where as car helmets are designed to withstand smaller multiple impacts.

Got some good news for you :d :d the Snell 2000 are due to expire end of 2014, so I would expect your 2005 to expire end 2019.

The issue was actually caused by the FIA who extended 2000 to 2014 and the MSA had to go along with them :d

Sounds good, I'll rent/borrow on the 4th April and then look to buy at Stoneleigh in May then. Thanks for the help!

That's the best idea. Got mine from Playskool last yeat at Stoneleigh, got to try the different sizes and designs plus they were doing deals on the prices for the show.
