Home early from work, sun was out, no more excuses, hit the road, and its... absoloutely bonkers!

I was driving along laughing my head off, it all takes a bit of getting used to, I found the gear change no problem with just a few wrong changes, I didnt stall once but was over-revving alot!

The steering is amazing short and sharp and the exhaust note was addictive! People stop and stare, bikers give a nod, its a mad way to get from a to b.

I stayed out till it got dark and below freezing and the fun started to wain abit so home we went, overall very happy, some tweaks I want to do and mods a plenty but what a toy for the money....

They are good aren't they!!!

Well done mate. What have you done with your seat then, looks like you're really close to the steering wheel?

..and what tyres have you got on it? I've got R888's and they didn't really like the temps today.

I've found the R1R's a bit more forgiving of the colder temps, but that's possibly assisted by my chassis set up too...

Great fun though isn't it, I love the feeling of cold-weather supercharging :d

Tyres are yokahama AD48s not sure what the rest of the numbers are or mean, they did seem loose at the back at 1st but seemed to settle down until the night drew in, that's when I took it very easy.

The seat does look a bit close to the wheel on the pics lol its as close as i need i suppose i am only 5 6"but it is high, too high, I went a bit overboard and my head was getting buffeted a fair bit. I'm going to drop it down tomorrow, but that's what it's all about I guess...

Here's hoping for a bit of sun tomorrow!

Yeah I love it thanks. It just puts such a big smile on my face. The pace, the noise, the looks you get. It's just so much fun!

No major plans in all honesty. I'm going to take it to a specialist for a health check. I want to know that all the nuts and bolts are suitably tight and there's no weaknesses anywhere there shouldn't be. I'm conscious of the fact that there's a lot of performance and not much safety so want to be confident.

I don't think I need to do much to the car performance wise. I know from it's history that it's well set up but may still look at the geo and get it weighed and dyno'd. The rest is just aesthetics so I'll look to replace/restore anything that's a little tired.

Looks a really nice car - have fun but please be careful in the cold and damp weather.

Good to see another North West owner.

Thanks for the advice and I will be taking it steady, looking forward to attending some NW meets once spring arrives!

Im only talking aesthetics myself YP...for now lol, just my stamp on it really, Im a bit of a perfectionist where cars are concerned and like you I want to get mine looked at and service it myself just so I know its as good as it should be....

Would like to sort some track time asap to learn what it is capable of...
