I H Freelance Services
Got the blade engine back from the engine hospital today , head gasket replaced , tappets set , carbs serviced new gaskets good old check over. Had some spare time so i dropped it back in the car and began the rather enjoyable job of putting it back together . But tonight iam really suffering the old backs killing me i was either on my knees or bent over double feeding cables -wires into the right places or sometimes into the wrong places ! Spured on by that moment shes fires back into life or not as the case may be and the aromatic smell of petrol fumes once again fills the garage . oh just remembered not to fire her up till ive put some oil back in or it will of to the engine doctors again. roll on the spring ! Norman Verona
I tore both back muscles whilst renovating the house. Lynne was in hospital at the time so I had little choice but to dose up on codeine and paracetamol to keep going. I was taking 9 per day for 6 weeks (max dose is 6 per day for maximum of 3 days!). I've now not done a stroke of work since mid December and I'm still getting treatment twice a week at the physio. I have lots of little jobs to complete the house but have been warned not to do anything until I'm completely cured. I'm just so bored I'm thinking of starting an autobiography.

Cleggy the Spyder Man
yup indeed chap - mega busy with work at the moment but I certainly need to get something booked to get me motivated really fancy doing Snetterton again or maybe try Rockingham as I aint been there yet and its only half an hour away for me - fancy doing Oulton but at 3 hours away it would need to be in the warmer months
SteveH
I got the engine and box back in my car last night, still have to bolt all the bits and pipes back on but will be ready for Oulton for sure and hopefully will get a shakedown before then. Cleggy, there's a very nice B&B right by Oulton if you need one, I think Matt is stopping over locally for our March date but not sure where. Rockingham is well worth a trip btw, very slippy in the wet but a really fun layout; I still haven't been there in my own car (always been instructing ) so am looking for a date this year as well. For back ache I spent last weekend chopping trees down but I had some nerves in my back burnt out last year so not too much pain until they grow back
I H Freelance Services
yeh could do with a nice dry salt free day to give it a trip round the block to check for any leaks etc . just holding of booking for a couple of weeks to see if march date is work free im self employed and work always comes in when you are looking to do a track day ! trouble is theses days works gotta come first it pays the bills [ well it does when i eventually get paid for it but thats a whole new topic] hope it is though i really enjoy Oulton and it fairly local to me in Stafford ! SteveH
I'm pretty optimistic about staying salt free, this is going to be the warmest winter in living memory or summat like that apparently. Dry might be a bit less certain but I've got my order in early so should be fine . I can do Oulton in 45 minutes on an early Sunday morning with no traffic, probably only 5-10 more for you i would guess.
