I used to have one. Moved house, forgot I had it and didn't notice any differences to my sleep (it was in my bedroom) or hay fever severity or frequence. BUT, do not under estimate the placebo effect. If you think it works, it probably does.

For hayfever, a double whammy of Flixonase nasal spray (now called Pirinase) and a Piriton tablet usually see me through even the worst attacks.

its more for a pet allergy and trying to remove pet dander form the air ive seen a few types that seem to do the trick, they are either a hepa filter or just pass the air through a high intensity heater to zap the particulate. All claim to cut out 99% of >2um particulate but im just not sure i trust them. Ive read loads of testimonials about how they have helped with dustmites or mould spores etc but not so many on dander (basically air born proteins from cat/dog/animal saliva). i dont mind havnig a punt on this as its going to be a problem but i was just wondering if anyone had any experience.

the usual antihistamines are not an option for several reasons including the sprays which with constant use have a high dependancy rate.
