Are there any restrictions on size or format of pictures for the avatar?

I have tried several times but it keeps saying Failed to set a new photo

I had that problem too, finally sussed that it needs to be tiny (current one is only 20kb) so you'll have to edit it down first ;)

size is 272 x 243 pixels according to Microsoft Picture Manager which I used to edit it (as I'm at work....)

Photo is probably too big. Think it mentioned something about 200px, which i'm guessing is 200 pixels. Mine was about 300 pixels wide.

It seems to autocrop it down to 92 x 92 pixels (roughly 10kb) but can't cope with anything bigger than 300 x 300 as the original pic ???

I was trying to reinstate my avatar, but I now know why I couldn't. I'm a current member .. how do I go about updating my status to 'member'?

EDIT: Guys, I've sussed it! Cheers!
