Hi,

We have this in our Westfield garage (stored for someone).

They are arranging it to be picked up but the battery is flat and the boot switch is electrical and wont work.

I managed to get it open last time by dismantling the lighter socket and applying 12v. Took a while  but evenually i managed to get enough power to pop open the boot. Got it started and let it warm up. I was (in the spring) going to charge/ change the battery.

Now they want it back and i can't get in the boot, any advice appreciated and i dont want to drill a hole in the boot lid (also the keys don't seem to work in the boot lock either).

I know there are a few on here with these SEXY but PUFFY cars!

It's a couple of years since I stripped my donor, but I have a feeling the Eunos had an internal boot release switch in the little cubby box between the seats?

I assume you can open the bonnet?

If so you should be able to access the other end of the postive battery cable which goes to the main fuse block and the starter motor.

Is there a release mechanism in the centre console? Next to the fuel lid opener

there is a key hole on the rear bumper ,just pop the key in and turn it ,and a pull switch in the centre consul ,or on the floor next to drivers seat

Yes, bonnets not a problem, going to check the fuses first thing in the morning as i have managed to get power through to operate the switch before. Researched online and have found where the internal fusebox is.

Could do a decent jump start if i can get on to the cable direct to the battery, will look at that.

The centre console release is an electrical switch so wont work with the battery flat as a fart!  :D

Theres a key hole in the boot lid but i couldn't get it to open last time i tried. It has different keys for the ignition and doors, i'm guessing theres another one needed for the boot and i don't have it.

Only moving the thing onto the drive but it has to go across a load of very wet grass, i can drag it over with my van but i will churn the grass up so wanted to start it up.

I'm sad its going TBH i really like the car, was hoping it would be left where it is 'till i could force the owner to sell it to me  :)

In that case, open the bonnet, connect a battery to the starter terminal and a chassis ground then you'll be able to pop the boot open using the switch.

Once the boot is open you can then jump directly to the battery in the boot.

Thanks for all the advice.

The bonnet and fuel flap are cable operated but the boot release is definately a switch. Had the wires exposed this morning while i applied 12v to the lighter wiring.

Switch is working fine but not getting enough power to the switch, will jump to the starter positive tomorrow morning and see how it goes
