markcoopers Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Was good to be back in the saddle again today, been a few months since my last blat but today all the omens came good. We managed an hour or so on the B662, B660 and B645 + supporting roads in between, went from dull to dark while we were out and well, it was just magic. Flames and cracks from the exhaust, raucous induction noise and a few steer from the rear moments. Saw a BMW Z1 while we were out as well, they are a bit rare as well. Quote

Had a good run out on Saturday too, including a couple of last Christmas items. Roads a little damp in places up here today, but what fantastic mild weather! Quote

nearly done Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Me too. Managed a few hours this afternoon ,shades,Belstaff and Westfield hat through town in to the peak for the last blat before SORN. Only down side was that I managed to reverse in to the side of the garage and crack the gel coat on the rear wing . frag68 Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 I have had a few local blats, even in the cold and snow we had a couple of weeks ago in Scotland. The car was covered in salt and was absolutely filthy, so I gou it out of the garage today and gave it a thorough clean, before a potter round the village where I live to dry the car off. Didnt venture much further as we have moved house a couple of weeks ago and SWMBO wanted pictures hanging, shelves put up etc, but it was a good day for a drive. Hopefully this weather will stay and I can get out for a proper drive on Friday. Fraser Quote

Matta Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Was out in mine too yesterday for an hour or so (second time in a week) but if you could see the weather we're having as I write this, there won't be any blats today! I'd had a gap of nearly 4 weeks since last being out and the car felt fantastic - so responsive, a feeling you just don't get with the old tintops. The car is pretty manky but at least that gives me an excuse to go out to the garage and clean it Matt Quote
s2rrr Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Hi all, hope you had a good Christmas and are heading for a happy new year. Have to say I enjoyed a little run out myself over lunch today. Bit chilly but had to take best advantage of the dry and fairly bright weather, also the alcohol levels had returned to normal . Did about 30 miles going no-where and reminded myself why I built it in the first place. Warmed up now I'm back in but half hood kept most of the draft out and the heater kept my gearstick side toasty, no dramas and running fine awaiting a final rolling road set up (still). Thoroughly enjoyable. Bob Quote

Checked the forecast and it looks like I wont be getting a blat tomorrow either Thinks thats it for this year, but hopefully will get out in the New Year. Quote
