Exhaust manifold

Hi all, new member here, so please be gentle with me.

I'm looking for a new bonnet exit exhaust manifold (2.0 l blacktop) fitted in a 2010 wide bodied model.

I would love to go to Simpson or Tony law for a custom system but time ( I'm in Cornwall) distance and money puts a stop to this.

The engiine is currently standard, but will be fitting throttle bodies and possibly some cams over the winter.

I have read a lot about primary size etc, but with the limited modifications, in the real word, now important is this, i will suprised if i get to 180-185 bhp.

I have seen various manifolds advertised, can anyone recommend an "off the shelf" item that will be sufficent for my set up and will fit (clear the chassis rail)

Or, should I patch the hole in the bonnet, although would rather not, and go down what seems the easier route of side exit, I have seen more of this style of manifold available as an off the shelf item/second hand

I used Powerspeed in Kent, a little closer and they always get good feedback on here and Blatchat . Would have thought they would be able to make you up a bonnet exit one in mild steel for approx £500 - but they would require you car to do it.

They also know their stuff when it comes to primary lengths etc.

Hi Pistol, Thanks for the info, but alas to far, will add a few hundred quid to the price of the manifold having to take time off work, fuel etc.

If you don't need bonnet exit a few second hand units appear every so often. Really I'd have thought you want s/steel ideally .

For my XE I got a second hand unused s/steel for £160. A big bore one just went for £250 ( XE again tho) on this forum.

Try a wanted ad.

Dunno about the big hole in the bonnet tho, could look for a bonnet too - work out the ££

Cheers Hammy, I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a second hand bonnet exit system as the hole in the bonnet is already there, but do want something "non restrictive" so looking at raceline/dunnel as these seem to have good reputations, but are side exit!

I guess I can glass the bonnet and get it sprayed.

I would be happy to go for a custom item if I didn't need to take the time off work to deliver/collect the car, and the distances were less.

Fingers crossed someone is changing from Zetc to Duratec/MC engine over the winter.

I'm waiting for my membership number, will put a wanted add when Ive got this and able too.
