Dave the Sparky Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Still hunting guys, not found anything local yet apart from an MK Indy which I looked at today, it measured 2200mm wide which concerned me as my garage door is 2150mm wide! What is the general width of kitcars if any? Smigga Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Still hunting guys, not found anything local yet apart from an MK Indy which I looked at today, it measured 2200mm wide which concerned me as my garage door is 2150mm wide! What is the general width of kitcars if any? Smigga Are you sure of that measurement? It seems very wide to me. I've just done a google and the results I've found on locost builders and Pistonheads are suggesting 1650-1675mm which is more what I'd expect. A westfield Sierra SDV is approx 1720 wide and that uses the same diff, (uncut) driveshafts etc as the Indy (ie a ford sierra back end). Quote
Bob Bobbleton Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 http://boardroom.wscc.co.uk/cgi-bin....t=93300 My SEiW flies in my garage, that MK indy does seem very wide !! Bob Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Most fit on a 5ft 5inch wide trailer Quote
SteveD Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 yup does seem very wide that you can fit a wide track westy with extra wide rear arch's in a 6ft1" wide trailer Quote
Wile E. Coyote Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 That MK measurement sounds odd to me too... it'd be significantly wider than a Range Rover (~2m), which doesn't sound too likely. Could be wrong mind... Quote
Dave the Sparky Posted December 3, 2011 Author Posted December 3, 2011 Thanks guys Im happy to be wrong, it is possible, I was looking at other things at the time too but did write it down? My e46 M3 was wide and went in but our Freelander wont. Im sure you chaps know best, Ill take my tapemeasure again next time. It was a waste of a viewing really, wanted to have a listen to a Pinto and hopefully have a drive out at least as a passenger but I got there and it hadn't run for 6 months and wouldnt fire, it was also rough and had not been on the road since 06 according to the tax disc! Advertised as road or track, I should have asked! It was really local and worth a look I guess... Smigga Quote
rocket_rabbit Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 There is no way an MK indy is 2.2m wide - wider than an Audi R8, Lamborghini Murcialago, etc etc. Quote
Terry Everall Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Double decker buses arent that wide! Quote
nickw2000 Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 My narrow is 5ft and a couple inches wide at the rear. Quote
