Well finally Ive bought a westy!

Im getting it on thursday...cant wait... :t-up:

Im sure youve all seen it on the for sale section..drugsdontwork in red, 2005 on zetec 1800.

So the project begins....

I will be selling the current engine/box setup and putting in a standard s2000 engine/box... along with upgrading brakes, diff etc.

This means the complete engine (has 2l cams and tbs) and mt75 box, and complete exhaust with lambda will be up for sale.. As soon as I have the car, I will be placing ad on for sale section, but if theyres anyone interested in the complete package let me know.. Not looking for huge money, more so a quick sale.reasonable offers could well be accepted  :suspect:

so Im chuffed to finally have made the first step!

:xmas:

Well done Tim  :t-up:  :t-up:

Truely Excellent Car IMO

Good luck with the upgrades - I take it you mean a Honda engine?  :D

I'll be very interested in the throttle bodies and fuel rail - how much you after?

tbh im looking to sell it off as a complete package-much quicker ;-)

might still be worth you taking the whole lot off me, and selling off what you dont want???

as I said not looking for massive $$$.

Thinking the engine complete with tbs, loom, ecu , gearbox must be worth close to 1500quid... (the engine was new when installed into westy in 2005, done 15000 miles now).

not 100% sure yet, but think that something around 1000-1100 would do.

Will have it on for sale section by end of week.

thx a lot. If anyone lives near shrewsbury, and fancies coming by to either take a peek at the project, or has some advice for me, theyre more than welcome... it a learning curve for me, and a pretty steep one at that, so all help is welcomed!

cheers

Jak's car is a great one, so why on earth you pulling the engine out? There was an S2000 engined car for sale as well recently, did you look at it?
Posted
yeh mate I know.... I did look at the s2000 one, but my issues are down to that I will be exporting it to germany... Theyve got harsher emissions than us, so tbs are a no go... hence running an s2000 on std everything! I actually looked at the s2000 engine when mick was selling it...

i know you've probably done your homework on this..

but emissions testers tend only to look at engine numbers/types - and then the emissions.

Am not convinced that they'd look at ITBs or not.. if the car had a cat and has an active lambda then surely it'd pass with flying colours??

you'd need to keep some crank breather and maybe and egr visually plumbed in ( for the test duration.. )

i've helped lots of std british cars into czech rep, so have seen a few of the checks - but engine swops here are a bit of a no-no.

am only asking - are you sure you need std everything??

- do they need the Eobd ? - will they check this??

tidy car that.... I had a think about buying that one myself....... but then came the 911.....

nah mate. tbs are not allowed over there....

why not buy a rolling chassis to do this project rather than stripping a sorted motor ??
