perksy Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 Saw a couple of Caterha## the other day and both the drivers and the passengers were wearing Headsets with built in Microphones. I think they were made by Peltor, are these Legal to wear whilst you are Driving Quote
minghis Posted November 3, 2003 Posted November 3, 2003 I would have thought so, all the rally boys wear them on the road sections between stages and they're very careful to keep within the law. Quote
perksy Posted November 3, 2003 Author Posted November 3, 2003 Errrr I once had Gwynath Evans 2" off my rear bumper at 90 mph and he knew the road alot better than me, I think he was running late for service Quote

How sad is that Agreed. How desperate for conversation/admiration do you need to be that you have to be able to communicate to a passenger? Puh leeeze........... Quote
felters Posted November 4, 2003 Posted November 4, 2003 Errrr I once had Gwynath Evans 2" off my rear bumper at 90 mph that'll be Gwyndaf's sister then? Most passenger/driver communication is originated by the passenger. In my personal experience it is usually along the lines of "you are a certifiable lunatic and your driving is making my ears bleed. I wish to get out of this car as soon as you can bring it safely to a halt." Hand signals seem to be the favoured method. Quote
perksy Posted November 4, 2003 Author Posted November 4, 2003 Felters, I'd had several bottles of Stella, I'm suprised i only spelt his first name wrong Quote
felters Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 aaahhh... Stella. Lovely stuff. After several bottles I struggle to even find my PC... Quote
Chopkins Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 Hi all. Not sure if they are legal or not but if you want some, I sell them @£347 per pair - Can do a good deal for fellow Westfield fanatics. They are great in that you can just plug them together and talk - they run off an internal battery - lasts for approx three years - New battery = £1 - I use them for open cockpit flying and they are great - With intercom you can connect to a cd player etcSkyproducts Aviation Store Quote

studbuckle Posted November 6, 2003 Posted November 6, 2003 Yes, they're legal and despite the comments, they are very useful. On a long blat it allows you to reduce damage to ears from wind, talk to passenger (which is sometimes a good thing), hear directions from the navigator/shop locator and yes you can plug in your radio/cd/mp3 player for the long motorway drone. I can even plug in one of those small walkie talkie jobs into mine and communicate with other equipped se7ens. Oh, and they keep your hat on Quote
