gregh Posted November 3, 2003 Posted November 3, 2003 have you tried making a much lower offer, if you think the spec is ok? Maybe the seller doesn't want it in their garage over winter! Quote
worldwidewebs Posted November 4, 2003 Posted November 4, 2003 I saw this one on eBay - the guy is a dealer (gt northern) so you are going to pay well over the odds. Having said that, I reckon you could get him down to £6500 or so (he was originally looking for about £7200 but I think had few takers) I spoke with him a couple of times and while he came across as a genuine person he knows nothing about the cars - not even as to whether it was live or indpendent axle or even if it was a widebody car. Keep looking and don't rush into it - I've been in the same situation for a while but will finally be collecting my new toy on Saturday Good ones are out there at the right money - my only advice (fwiw from another newbie! is to buy from an enthusiastic private seller, preferably someone in the WSCC as there will be plenty of people who know and can vouch for the car. And echoing previous comments - join the club Happy hunting Andy Quote
brenin Posted November 5, 2003 Author Posted November 5, 2003 Yupe - it is the one on ebay!! I've put in a silly offer of 5K. We'll see! Sadly my biggest problem is that, being Scotland-based, it's really difficult to get to see the cars! It should help once I've joined and people will be able to give me more history on the cars. Meanwhile - I still search!!! IaN Quote
