CateringVan Posted November 13, 2002 Posted November 13, 2002 Time for me to wade in Dont forget c a t e r h a m s either (here and the blatchat forum) - they have aluminium bodywork if thats important to you (but as someone said you have GRP on your Elise so it shouldnt matter either way). They are more expensive but have better residuals IMHO so the overall ownership costs is much the same, and they also have the Lotus heritage if thats important to you although personally it doesnt bother me. Please lets not start another C'ham vs w'field debate, its been done too many times before (do a search) and it really boils down to which you prefer and how the car is set up. You can get badly setup c'hams and w'fields and you can get properly set up ones. Whatever you get it will run rings around an Elise and you'll have an absolute ball driving it. Just dont buy a Robin Hood, ok ? Quote
Two Dinners Posted November 13, 2002 Posted November 13, 2002 Just dont buy a Robin Hood, ok All joking aside Catering Van is correct you do need to go out a drive a few just do not Wright off Westfield’s or Caterthingys on one bad drive. Quote
mmmmdonuts Posted November 13, 2002 Posted November 13, 2002 I also had the same choice a couple of years ago. before even test driving the Elise I ruled it out on insurance grounds. £2000+ a year compared to £250 for the Westie. No contest. Quote
wrightster Posted November 13, 2002 Posted November 13, 2002 never having owned either and not knowing enough about either i would strongly advise a westie !! it will be give far more smiles than a lotus Quote
