wookie Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 Hi, my mate has got a Tiger 6...... The rear o/s brake cylinder was leaking, i replaced both sides and pads while i was doing the job. I bleed the system, all ok, he's now since done a trackday etc, and got the problem again, the brake piping runs from the master cylinder into the rear o/s then routes out of there across the axle to the n/s. should they be independantly fed?. Or has anyone got any ideas how to cure the problem? Cheers People Quote

adam123 Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 should they be independantly fed?. no, but when i built my super six the brake pipes ran from the m/c to the rear n/s then to the rear o/s but i cant see that making any difference. adam Quote
wookie Posted November 2, 2003 Author Posted November 2, 2003 nope honest guv, its not mine............ anyone got any clues to the problem? Quote
stu999 Posted November 3, 2003 Posted November 3, 2003 It may be coincidence, it maybe a defective cylinder, or you might have excessive heat build up in that drum, which has destroyed the seals. Try and assertain what has actually caused the problem when the job is done again. look for foreign matter in the cylinder (swarf etc), overheating of seals, scoring of cylinder bores, that type of thing. The plumbing arrangement sounds correct for a live axle, it is the same as the majority of live axled Fords.... Quote
