AndyC_772 Posted October 31, 2003 Posted October 31, 2003 I use two of these:DeLonghi Infra Red Heater Time will tell whether they're adequate, but I wasn't too cold doing an oil change a couple of weeks ago. The nice thing about them is that they don't heat the air - they just heat me and the car, so they're cheap to run and warm up quickly. You can pay a lot more for an IR heater too. A. Quote
hilux Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 I have been looking for a small domestic heating oil space heater for a while now so if anyone knows of a suitable manufacturer etc please let me know. I am however seriously considering this B3 heater due to its compact dimensions. I know electricity is expensive but with a normal single uninsulated garage requiring approx 10000 btu incl three outside walls you will only need it when you are actually in the garage. It `should` space heat quite quickly due to the high dispacement rate suggesting at least a dozen air changes an hour (should also help dry out a humid atmosphere with normal leakage rates) or your air recirculating every 5 mins and would comfortably maintain a 17-19 c temp IMO and being `industrial` should cope with normal garage conditions/knocks etc etc Try for a `group` buy Quote
S8ight Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 big bunch of bl**** girls blouses heaters in garages lets play spot the big softies who work in offices eh ? Quote
taffy Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 I agree with S8, Our merchandising should introduce a "Westyvest" for those cold lonely nights spent with your loved one in the garage. It could also be used for winter blatts, it should have a brown paper front and a high neck to prevent the onset of "Westy neck syndrome". Detachable arms for summer use, and string to secure your baseball cap to your head for driving over 30mph! Retail about ten bob! Wow I think Im on to somthing! Post your design requirments and orders here.send all money to the bank of Uganda, the Westyvest will be delivered to your door within six months, and then you to can join your mates down the pub with the latest trend setting garment! Remember a vest isnt just for Christmas! Rob Quote
hilux Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 spot the big softies who work in offices ahem..... I used to be a big hairy builder for over 20 years but me back, knees, shoulder etc etc stopped me so I now need a bit of heat Also, why make life harder............... Quote
taffy Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 Dont worry, we can supply em in all sizes ! Rob Quote
Sparky Pups Posted November 3, 2003 Author Posted November 3, 2003 I suppose I better confess as to why I want heating in the garage. Since moving house I have now acquired an old cowshed which I will use as my garage. The problem is though that I have downsized the house and now need to convert the cowshed so that it can double up as my gamesroom. Sparky Quote
