after watching a programe today on shipping i decided to look at the live vessel tracking ,its mental how many boats are on the sea's ,you can click on a boat and it brings up the name and everyfin

I run a website tracking ships on the Clyde if your into that sort of thing... have a number of AIS receiving stations around the Clyde that  feed my website.. also have a transponder on my own boat

The software used for this is call Shipplotter..  and anyone can run it and view ships around the world.. the recievers to view the data directly start @ £100

I use www.shipais.com to see what ships are passing my front door.  Mind you, they are a bit sparse around here compared to the Channel or Liverpool!!
