Dibby Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Like the Greenpeace slant on the VW ad with the kiddy dressed as Darth and the big VW logo on the death star? VW kind of shot themselves in the foot there by giving the greenies an easy theme to work with. Quote
FILFAN Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 The whole currys, dixons, pc world group is evil. Have you ever tried taking back something faulty because they use the force to try and stop you. Must admit I hate alot of retail outlets. Don't even get me started on halfords. Quote

Then we are happy to be dishonest and steal from them with the other? Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Indeed, having been involved in the dim distant past with high street retail, it never failed to amaze me what a not that small percentage of customers would try and get away with. Quote

Then we are happy to be dishonest and steal from them with the other? Not saying i do, am happy too or promote illegal activities. Just can understand why someone would consider such actions. Most large chains sell poor quality products at inflated prices. As for customer service it's a joke. Especially halfords. I use to use them alot around 10 years ago when they actually employed mechanics and people who knew what they were talking about. Now they just fill the store with kids who would be happy to sell you a water thermostat for a vw beetle. Would rather support the small business who will take time to get u what u require. Failing that the Internet is probably the best place to find the right stuff. Especially with forums like this to help you find what you need not what a shop wants to sell Quote
Dibby Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 It's not stealing, you're taking something back for a refund. Quote
frag68 Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 On a slightly different note, A girl in the office came back from her holidays last week sporting a new hair cut. Its all different lengths, probably called layered, at the back to about shoulder length and from the back looks like Darth Vader. Havent had the heart to tell her she has had her hair cut by Stevie Wonder. Quote
Dibby Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Best to let them just get on with it, just think of the hairstyles from our childhood. Holding my hands up to owning a lovely under-cut Quote
FILFAN Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 There were some dodgy hair styles in star wars too. If its that bad take a light sabre to it then tell her you are her father. Quote
rocket_rabbit Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 I haven't really had a problem with Halfords, same goes for PC World. As long as you are clued up, the only staff you need to deal with are the checkout staff. ATEOTD, what are you expecting knowledge wise? If you are knowledgeable and skillful, you won't be at a high street shop. Quote
