Nice one Phil, that looked like very close racing at a few points!

Well done mate and credit to the novice Porsche driver for fending you off for a few corners, can't be easy for him dealing with a heavy car in the twisties.

I enjoyed that race it adds to the buzz when you run that close to the tin tops.

Car spec is vauxhall redtop sbd 225bhp @8800rpm, quaife 60g 6 speed with geartronics paddle shift system

4.4 rear diff quaife atb.

well done - did you start to leave him when ya got past him or was he up ya chuff for the rest of the race?

That GT3s got some grunt when you get moving a 225bhp isn't slow. When the Porsche driver gets the hang of taking a bit of curb on the apex and exits a little more smoothly its going to be difficult to catch. I would still rather do that sort of thing in a Westy though (on a dry day :D )

dont know how hard the porsche driver was pushing the brakes, but the westy shaved off a lot fo time there too.... What brakes you running? 4 pots front?Wilwood/AP?

I ran 55sec a lap  when I got past him he ran 56sec a lap.

brakes are standard size black diamond grooved solid discs with race leda 4 pot callipers, and sierra calipers on the rear

Nice video Phil, always fancied racing at Knockhill but never got round to doing it.

Couple of questions if you don't mind:

Just swopped my gearbox to a 60G and am also running a 4.4 diff. I reckon I'm going to be running out of revs on some of the longer circuits. Presuming you're running the 1:1 top gear box, have you had any similar issues?

Also did you have to cut out a cross member at the top of the gear tunnel to fit the gearbox actuator cylinder?

Cheers
