Tom Frankland (T3OMF) Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Watched the whole series last night at work. It's not bad, better than the oz ver Quote
Cleggy the Spyder Man Posted October 24, 2011 Author Posted October 24, 2011 and then they were on me like flourescent devils will watch for the cars anyway Quote
smorse Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 top gear with clarkson & co is not just a car show, its more entertaining with 3 guys fooling around & laughing in the face of health & safety, am i missing something with the US version coz i just cant manage a giggle, saying that i cant remember top gear dog taking a dump on stage so 10/10 for originality there Quote
lippydave Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Watched this episode last night..... ...and to think I thought Richard Hammond was an annoying little Brummie dangler...(He is!), but at least two of these three Yanks can beat him in the annoying dangler stakes... It's a slavish formulaic copy of the beeb version and it doesn't work without the on screen chemistry of the British pedant, the scruffy juvenile, and the old lecherous perv... Quote
Cleggy the Spyder Man Posted October 25, 2011 Author Posted October 25, 2011 I apologise reservedly for bringing this to your attention Quote
Dibby Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Went off the UK version after the format got all a bit samey and turned into a car themed Nuts magazine on telly. It's alright for 12 year olds to drool over supercars being skidded round an airfield. Bring back Tony Mason's rally report. Found 5th Gear was more centred on real car reviews and informative articles but it was presented by totally un-likeable characters like Plato, Needel and muttony-lamby VBH giggling through her overdone Avril Lavigne makeup. He boobs did wobble nicely over the seatbelt though. Quote
Captain Colonial Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I'm afraid any of you waiting, wishing or longing for me to comment are ultimately doomed to live on Disappointment Drive. Quote

dombanks Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 although a copy i did find it amusing, maybe just the novelty of it and it was on in the background while i was tidying up. i did wonder what a neeeson 370 zee was tho till i saw it. do you think it was the blind guy nailing that skiddy parking thing? ... a bit hard to believe but i'd like to think so as far as s**t tv goes its no worse than some of the corry/eastenders/holyoaks drivel Quote
Dibby Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Sheesh Dibby, lighten up old chap... I'm not saying any of yer observations are wrong, but I'm worried about yer blood pressure, you seem a bit worked up.....Time for a herbal ciggy or a shot or two... ... I don't mean it really, just enjoy a good moan. Don't watch a great deal of TV, only thing I'll purposely sit down to watch is the F1 but I'd much rather be tinkering, fixing, bodging, fiddling with something that sitting in front ofthe idiots' lantern. My lift-share blokes all love Strictly, never seen one but I get the feeling it's inane drivel of the highest order, suppose in their 60s, they do ballroom dancing on a Tuesday night and until I started lift sharing I though the ballroom was the measure of a trouser crotch. ... have to wait till I get home for relaxables ... tea of course ... herbal tea ... right, to keep the thread SFW Quote
Tonto1 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Load of pish!! Turned off as i saw them wheel spinning a viper round a grave yard - not funny!! In fact wheel spinning is about all they seem to be able to do. ""Mmmm? Lets think of an entertaining way to test/rate a car!! I know what. we'll get a nob-end to see if he can make the wheels spin and that will tell us if it's any good or not!!"" As i said - Pish!! Quote
