lippydave Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Tragic loss of a talented human being full of spirit, the joy of life, and fully aprreciative of the enjoyment of being a competitive motorcycle racer..... Godspeed Marco Simoncelli Quote
cleowuss Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 R.I.P. Marco Was shaping up to be real racer. Will be missed. Quote

Scottish Bloke Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Sad loss, had so much more to give Quote
MrL Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Another tragedy, I am on nights and was woken by a mate's text message informing me of this. He will be missed, I think he was a talented guy with a bit of a cavalier character but never meant any harm. I hope and pray we lose no more racers this year, Ben Gautrey, Dan Wheldon and now Marco. Thats the 3, 3 too many. My thoughts go out to all of the people affected by these sad losses. Quote
mark.anson Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Tragic horrific accident. I could believe it when I saw it this morning. RIP Quote
Martin Keene Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Tragic horrific accident. I could believe it when I saw it this morning. RIP This. Having seen the accident, do not watch it if you are not of the concrete guts type. When I watched Kubica crash is Montreal in 2007 I was concerned he might be dead, when I saw Marco crash this morning, I knew he was dead. This was somehow made worse by the fact he was then announced to be conscious, therefore giving hope, only for the worse to be confirmed later. Quote
RedditchJay Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 VERY unusual for helmets to come off.............. some impact....... I also feel for Colin Edwards and Rossi....... Marco was Rossi's best paddock mate and often biked together...... Quote
SteveD Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 truley horrific freak accident, 9 times out of 10 he would of just low sided and slid off to the outside of the track , my thoughts are with all his family and freinds ,he was such a talented rider and brought a breath of fresh air to motogp ,very gifted rider that will be truley truley missed and we will never see reach what i believe reach his true potential ,i have no doubt in my mind he would of been a motogp world champion ,this kind of accident must make riders ask themselves why the hell they do it , rip marco Quote
wiggywoo Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 gutted heard on the way to football gave me goose bumps. Marco and rossi were so close feel for him and edwards R.I.P Marco Quote
jeff oakley Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 It was a tragic event, never been a big fan of the Moto GP but as with Dan Whelan, it is the fact that we have not seen to many deaths recently that makes them more shocking. Bikers are a cut above others in the bravery stakes as they have little protection when it all goes wrong so I cannot see it making much differance to the rest, but Edwards and Rossis certainly will take time to get over this accident. It does raise the question how his helmet came off but I suspect the outcome would have been the same. Quote
