Fat Albert Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Lytro Lytro lets you take pictures like never before. Unlike a conventional camera that captures a single plane of light, the Lytro camera captures the entire light field, which is all the light traveling in every direction in every point in space. Since you'll capture the color, intensity, and direction of all the light, you can experience the first major light field capability - focusing after the fact. Focus and re-focus, anywhere in the picture. You can refocus your pictures at anytime, after the fact. Go to the picture gallery and play with the images Quote
bhouse Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 That's rather impressive. Sounds more like holography than photography. Quote
AidanPlace Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 No excuse for being out of focus anymore Quote
corsechris Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Now we can all do the Blade Runner sequence where Deckerd zooms and pans around a photo.... ...or not. Chap at work has just ordered one of those. Be interested to see what it produces. Quote
Dibby Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Thought about this concept for a while and why it hadn't already been invented years ago. Dammit, should have put it into production and made my millions, just like my amazing idea to take bread ... and slice it Quote
