betarev3 Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 The curse of Fish Hill near Broadway. About 6 weeks ago I bought a fire blade engine car from the depths of Wales. It soon developed severe clutch drag, turned out to be the actuating rod and the metal plates £140 later, fixed. Took it for a drive in the Cotswold and up the infamous Fish hill where it dumped all the water, got it trailered home, water pump gone £200 back on the road. A couple of weeks later run in the Cotswolds up the Fish hill stopped at the top, battery flat, trailered home on investigation new battery and regulator £160. Next weekend out again engine overheated, electric fan not working lost the water again, trailered home, now permanently on until I can get a switch. Today went to Long Marston drag strip scenic route up the Fish hill got to the top and the car will no longer hold in 3rd and 4th gears. Looks as though the gearbox needs to come out and be rebuilt, someone mentioned something about dogs. and said it will be expensive. Just to add insult to injury headlights on the way home have stopped working!!!!!!!!!!!!! Looking for a gearbox for a fireblade 929. 2001. Quote

John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Sounds a bit fishy to me Sounds like the best bet would be to find another engne and use it as a donor. good luck with the repairs Quote
rob iles Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 love the fish i suggest you fix the motor, run it in without going near broadway or the fish till you sure everythings ok then you have to do the fish again just to break the curse Quote
Bob Green Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 So other than that, how’s your day? Seriously, that is bad luck and hope you get the gremlins sorted soon. Quote
