Rory's Dad Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 There's a guy recommending heating up your sump with a blow lamp to help drain all the oil out. I don't think it's something I'd try... but then again what do I know? What does anyone else think?? Rory's Dad Quote
Autosri Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Just drive the car for 10 mins to thin the oil out Quote

Mark Stanton Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 was it a joke or serious usually a quick 5 to 10 mins drive around block is enough to warm things up to ease draining off Quote
D7PNY Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Haha...that's priceless. As said above, quick run in the car to warm up the oil does the trick nicely. Quote
stephenh Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 OMG, dont do it, it was a joke of course!! Quote
combatsapph Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 OMG, dont do it, it was a joke of course!! Wish someone had told be that 30 mins ago Quote
pistonbroke Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 The modern ( thin ) oils still drain OK when cold You could leave the catch tray under sump overnight if you want every last drip out Quote
Captain Colonial Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Here's a trick you can pass back to him - to make your light bulbs last longer, place them in the freezer overnight; the next day, remove them from the freezer and drop them directly into a pan of boiling water. He'll be surprised by the results. Quote
