AidanPlace Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 My business has decided it wants a cash flow modelling tool and rather than pay the rental of a commercial system has decided that because I know how to use the "sum" tool i'm well qualified I kinda hoped the combined knowledge of the Westfield Massive would have the answer. I have a data entry box that i can use to create a database of incomes and expenditures this covers a range of ages, reasons and amounts - so for example salary as an income between ages 18-67 What I need to do next is take the results for example £20k between 20-55 and paste 20K into each year between 20-55 on a separate table. This should mean I can produce a bar graph showing incomes and expenditure for each year and prove your all not saving enough, you'll run out of money, end up destitute unless you buy more of my gear. So does anyone know how i can take the input I have and output it how I want. Cheers Aidan Quote
Nic Ayre Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Sounds easy enough to do, but would need more info to try and work out exactly what you are trying to achieve. Nic Quote

Meakin Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 As Said sounds fairly easy once I can get my head round what you want as entry and out. To make a result go from one place to another can either be a simple formula or a macro to copy the value from any cell you select. The first is easier and described below. ie if the result is always in the same place then to get that value into the next sheet the formula is =Sheetname!CellReference eg =Sheet1!C12 You can also build this formula by typing = in the cell you want the answer and then clicking on the box whihc has the answer. The inserting it into lots of rows or columns is then a simple task of =firstcell eg if your chart table is on sheet2, and calculated result is on sheet1 cell C12 you could put "Copied across" in cell A1 A2 formula would be =Sheet1!C12 Then on sheet2 whereever you want that answer you put the formula =$A$2 This means it will always use the cell A2 no matter how you copy it across or down. Hope that has helped rather than confused. If you still want help let me know and send me an example of the kind of thing you want (eg a sketch or similar) and I can build a template quite quickly for you. Paul Quote
bobsy Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 I've had to do similar things in the past, concept is pretty easy once you get to grips with it, just don't think too hard, it's not as difficult as it at first seems. My issue to this is my distinct lack of computer skill, I can't even figure how to get an avatar up My maths and graph and design concept is pretty good though. I reckon you could actually find what you need has already been done, and is sitting on google somewhere though. Just out of curiosity, what do you sell ?? it'd make the image of the graph easier when knowing what you selling. Quote
Nic Ayre Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Nic, Easy you say, would you take a look? Aidan Always happy to help whenever I can, but I think Paul has given you the info for what you need. Give me a shout if you need help. Nic Quote
