lippydave Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Is it just me or what? As a lifelong football fan, and former player, why do I have far less interest in the overpaid lowlife scumbag chavs who are the England football squad defeating Montenegro in a Euro 2012 qualifier, than watching the England rugby team beat the living daylights out of the French at the rugby world cup tomorrow morning? I think I may have answered my own question tho'.... Quote

The statement works just as well for any sport you care to insert. The fact that it's an entertaining sport is just pure bonus. Quote

Fat Albert Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 . These are last weeks teams from Chelsea and Harlequins, as you can see there are just 4 players in the Chelsea side who are English, there are just 2 in the Quins side that aren't! There are several players in the Chelsea side who are paid more in a month than all the the Quins players put together get in a season. How much of the Chelsea wage cost goes abroad? Chelsea Harlequins 15 Brown 14 Stegmann 13 Lowe 12 Turner-Hall Sturridge 11 Smith Drogba 10 Evans Mata 9 Dickson Meireles 8 York Lampard 7 Wallace Ramires 6 Robshaw Terry 5 Robson Bosingwa 4 Kohn Luiz 3 Fairbrother Cole 2 Brooker Cech 1 Marler Turnbull 16 Gray Ivanovic 17 Lambert Romeu 18 Johnston Malouda 19 Matthews Lukaku 20 Skinner Anelka 21 Bolt 22 Clegg 23 Casson Quote
pistonbroke Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Find myself watching a lot of rugger lately at the expence of other ball games . The "Northern" game is of course a far superior sport than that played by those mamby pamby university types Wouldn't want to see footy become less popular though , it keeps all those idiots caged up at the w/ends if only for a few hours . If only all footy matches could be made none stop 24/7 Quote

frubpato? Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Err It was Culloden where you spanked us , we gave you a fright (well Mel Gibson did) at Bannockburn . Its a bit like living next to your big brother , if someone picks a fight with him in the playground then you will join in and support him , however if he falls on his a*se cos he wasnt paying attention , then you laugh until your ribs crack . Simples Quote
