Hi, i've got a kent cam fr32, and putting on a new belt after a full re-build, kent say all i need to know is that after  TDC the setting is 108 degrees, is that all i need to do?. and that the valve clearances are 0.010 thou, oh and the head has been skimmed by 0.030 tho, will this make a difference?.

Sort of. In theory, you can fit the belt as per the manual and the engine will run. BUT, the cam timing *might* be out, and therefore any benefits of fitting a higher lift cam could be lost. So by ensuring you have full inlet valve lift @ 108 deg, you will be ensuring that the cam timing is correct.

There are a couple of ways of doing this....you will need a DTI guage, a 360 deg protractor for the one method, a way of altering the cam timing if it is out, and a bit of patience.....
