Captain Colonial Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Someone sent me this Power Point presentation (yeah, I know, I hate Power Point too, but this is different), and I thought it was so stunning that I'd upload it into my web space and share it with you. Hope you enjoy it. Clicky Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Wow, words really don't do that justice. Thanks for sharing. I know half the world's economies are FUBAR, but part of me just feels so down at the loss of the shuttle operations and NASA's virtual imascalation, and I know its silly, but it's like seeing your childhood dreams of what the future would be like slowly go down the tubes. Paul M Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 just stunning, had the pleasure of going to the Kennedy space centre in 2009 with my wife & two daughters, we arrived late in the day and didn't have time to do the full tour, it's a testimony to the sheer jaw dropping achievements of the space race that my girls ( then aged 10 & 13) insisted we go back soime time so they could do the full tour. They really knew nothing about it, I, as someone born in 1964 and can remember the moon landings ,was simply stunned to see so much modern history. Went again this summer ( 2 weeks after the final shuttle flight), did the full tour and it is simply breathtaking. I know the costs are just mind boggling but, I find it incredibly sad that I can remember the moon landings and when you could fly to New York in 3 hours - my kids cant. Quote
