Bob Green Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Hi As you may be aware, I have purchased a Mini to renovate (not to pristine condition) and after a couple of weeks of ownership working out a strategy, I am ready to start in some sort of movement. I think I will start to remove all the mechanical stuff in that I can get the car down to a shell, purchase a “Spit” to affix to the body in that it can be revolved and understand how hard the MIG will have to work! Are there any folk who will be willing to allow me to borrow their engine crane? It is unlikely I will need it for this weekend as I will need to grab a van from work (unless it will fit in a SAAB 9.3 boot). Thanking you in anticipation. Quote
SteveD Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 one here bet's if you need it ,you know where i am ps, i started a movement once Quote
ACW Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 If your doing a full shell job on it, then remove the front subframe and wheel barrow the body off the car. Thats what I used to to a long time ago. Quote

As a bye, I used to have a million 'L' shaped (BMC) engine brackets in days of yore but like an idiot, threw them out as "I will not need these again". I don't suppose you may have two laying about? When I pick the crane up, will you wear that nice frock I bought you last year? Mwah mwah mwah Quote
