Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 SOLD Along with the other spares I also found a coilpack bracket; this bolts on to the cylinder head where the old distributor used to be, and your coilpack bolts on one side. SBD used to charge £35-40 when I last bought one. This in NOT the old SBD one that used to be notorious for breaking due to vibration. It feels really well made and sturdy, the welding looks much more substantial IYSWIM. Although I've never used it, the previous owner had fitted it, though the engine was never actually used. It was also Post Box red! As you can see, I toned it down slightly, it's now satin black. Looking for £20 plus £2.50 post and packing. (No P&P for WSCC members) Thanks for looking
Timmay Zoom Zoom Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Hi Gadget, Do you have a pic in situ? does it fit over the top of the disti blanking plate? Am intereseted but just need to check the length on my leads to see if it will fit. Will get rid on my bodged ally plate that rattles a lot! Tim
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) Posted September 28, 2011 Author Posted September 28, 2011 Hi, as I say, I've never had it fitted, (it cam along with a disy blanking plate) in a second hand Jenvey SF throttle body/MBE ecu kit I bought. Yes it fits over the blanking plate using two of the old disy bolt holes. You can actually see from the large circular slight impression under the paint on the top picture where it has been fitted up against the plate previously. It's not the best of photos to show how the brackets fit, but you can just see mine at the end of the cylinder head on the right in this shot. Looking at the arrangement of the bolt holes, although I hadn't noticed before, I suspect this one actually supports the coilpack from below, i.e. with the wires coming out of the top. Probably a much better idea for strength than the designs like I have in the photo, where they're held on their side. (I'll try and remember to hod it up to the head tonight so I can confirm )
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) Posted September 28, 2011 Author Posted September 28, 2011 Thanks to everyone that asked, now sold.
