I had a VX220 turbo from new for a couple of years before the first Westie and still stands out as one of the best cars I've owned.  Thought long and hard about getting another before the current Westfield came along.

I'm happy to report we're getting on well.

Done about 100 miles today and loving it, most un-Westy like but a really good hoot...............

Chuffed for you mate.

Enjoyed the ride in it at alconbury.

Hope to have a longer ride in it one day.

BTW has the grin on your chops got any smaller yet ;)

Not really mate

The thing is that I keep trying to rev the nuts off it through the gears when there is really no need due to the blower.

It's taking a bit of getting used to TBH but that's slowing things down a bit which is not a bad thing.

It seems totally alien to just jump in and go without having to put on the silly shoes, helmet/eye protection and six pointers then brain yourself on a roll cage whilst gettin in

I do miss the rawness of the Westy but the VX is raw enough...............

Nice. The wheels look really good, nice contrast to the silver.

What's the odd gauge that has been added?

It's a crappy aftermarket boost guage.

I got no idea what boost the motor is running as when it is on boost.

The last place I'm looking at is down there at the boost guage whan the boost comes in

The power deliver is seamless and that makes the car deceptively quick, it just b*******s off up the road in that ever gear and revs you happen to be in when you plant the throttle.

The blower "whine" is not loud enough though, I want screamin induction on boost............

Well done good cars from my experience. Looks good too.

Hope you continue to enjoy it , Chaz. Oddly enough one whizzed past me on the A38 today and I thought that they still look OK. There's guy across the road who had one for a very little while, now has a Boxster that he parks in inconvenient places in the road. No idea why he had it for so little time.

I'll probably have the clams off over the winter Nic to give it all a good clean but no, no rebuild planned.

I still have the single seater to fiddle with which is plenty to be going on with.

This ones for driving

Chaz.

I'll give you 12 months before we see a VX220 rebuild thread  :p

The second line says it's had a Courtney stage 2 supercharger kit fitted  ;) So it only started out being NA.

If you don't like the Vauxhall badge, pull it off and fit an Opel badge.  I had a Cavalier Coupe many moons ago but never keen on the name Vauxhall, stuck Opel badges on it and instantly more pride!

Funny,

People from the continent put the Vauxhall badge on their Opel Speedster (VX220 equivalent) because they think it's better looking  :D
