Goodwood Revival

Back from this year's revival - couldn't make it for all 3 days as planned, but had a terrific time - if you haven't been, take a look on the internet, and consider going - petrolhead heaven, and an excellent atmosphere!

Also found Marathon bars and Opal Fruits for sale in the "revival" Tesco shop under their proper names. Excellent ! :)

I went a couple of years ago and have been meaning to go again every year since. The young women in period (1950s just like 'Lipstick on Your Collar' girls) costume look like 'real' women; feminine and sexy. The trouble is that they are dressed like my aunties were when I was a child. Very confusing!

Like this although my aunties were a bit more conservative!

The whole atmosphere is to be experienced to even begin to appreciate it. The television show that inevitably follows helps, but it's the little things that count.

Sounds like a great day out.

Parents have been to Revival a few times but I tend to end up at the FoS for my one big car event of the year. Prefer the bigger range of cars at FoS but Revival will have to be done one year to see them racing properly instead of a single time-trial event.

It's the only place to be in September. Proper cars, proper racing and a unique pageant to boot. Where else can you see 10 Spitfires in the air at once

I need to go to this, the FOS never appeals to me as much as seeing some fanastic machines being raced.

Maybe I should start planning now. ???

Not to mention the scrawny 19 year olds wanting to climb on the bonnet of your car.  :)
