Fat Albert Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 James Toseland forced to retire through injury QUOTE "My wrist will never fully heal enough for me to operate the throttle properly and navigate right hand turns." No bikes, no piano and has to use his left hand Quote
RedditchJay Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 thats sad..... i saw him at WSB @ Silverstone where he was struggling Quote
SteveD Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 he said the other week in a live interview the injury did not effect his piano playing and was not really a problem to his music Quote
MrL Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Sad news, I have followed his racing career since he was in the CB500 Cup. I heard him sing & play at Goodwood FoS a few years back, so I hope he can keep playing the piano at least. More time for him to spend with Katie Melua now I guess, every cloud has a silver lining as they say Quote
Cleggy the Spyder Man Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 some honourable words in there Quote
Doug Dastardly Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Very sad to have retirement forced on him. Happy to hear he can still play the piano though. And if he's cuddling up to Katie Melua that must be some consolation Bike racers are proper tough- its sobering how many retire through injury. And how many previous champions retired through injury or were killed (most noticeably on the roads) Quote
