Rant for today

So SWMBO gets an email a fortnight ago from the pushy, snooty, arrogant woman doing her school reunion, which they do every five years for some ungodly reason.  SWMBO writes back and says very politely no thanks, had a very bad time at school, no happy memories or friendships, was glad to leave, the past is another country and I don't want to visit it again. :t-up:

Two days ago another email shows up asking her to reconsider and would she like to be informed of future events?  Through clenched teeth, another ever so slightly less polite email saying no, she was horribly bullied then with no friends (common enough story). and at the last reunion a few of those bullies were there.  While they couldn't bully her any more, she is very happy now and didn't want to spend time in the past as said before, and no, don't email her about things again. :bangshead:

Yesterday, a rambling round robin bulk email about said reunion arrives, saying how wonderful it will be, how many people are coming, etc.  Attached is a Word document with a list of all the former students by name and full postal address!  Further, she sent it to 53 people using To: rather than Bcc:, thereby also giving everyone the email addresses of everyone else!

To say the email I wrote back on SWMBO's behalf was professional but scathing, much more direct and an awful lot less polite would be an understatement.     I even threatened her with the Data Protection Act 1998 for disclosing addresses without permission.  As I never liked the snooty cow on the times I've met her (she doesn't even acknowledge my existence when I'm standing in front of her, the self-important b***h), I must say it gave me a great deal of satisfaction to take her down a few pegs, and to know she won't bother SWMBO again.

I got a reply this afternoon - "My apologies".  That's it, nothing more.  Stupid  :arse: hole.  But I do feel better. :)  :t-up:

However, I'm not satisfied with just getting "my apologies".  So if any of you are in Coventry on the night of Saturday 3rd March 2012 and at a loose end, why not drop by the DeVere Village Hotel, go to the function room and ask for Val?  And when you do, tell her in a nice loud voice "Scott says hi" and that she's an ignorant, arrogant, snooty, ugly old moo.

And relax... :t-up:

Mate, I would love to know.  What's an even bigger mystery is how she got our home address 20 years ago when we're ex-directory and not on the electoral register! :suspect:  I reckon she's a witch and should be burned!

Hahahaaha! Good man!  One of the most gratifying ones for me was a class reunion where only 30 turned up and they lost a fortune.  How I laughed...

Went to a reunion, 41 years on, deliberately late, stood in the bar, looked around, thought "well I don't know anyone here". Then thought Oh isn't that so and so and him and her.  The very next thought was Christ, do I look that rough!  Yes yes I know.

My old school (in St Albans) invites its alumni to a reunion 50 years after they joined. Mine was 2 years ago. I went. Enjoyable enough  --  but, as blitz says, everyone (except me  ???  ) was old. Most daunting was the number out of our original year of 99 people who were "no longer with us"      :arse:
