Jamie, thanks, your mates contact details would be useful, especially if hes got a lightweight CAT from a Bike.

Ive found a local mechanic whose going to give the engine a once over soon, its getting there.. Need to get a new dash cut next week with all the instruments in the right place e.g. speedo on driver side and not passenger  :0

Ive priced up a CAT/Lambda kit, its about £295 +VAT, I think Ill probably head this route (or at least get the box of tricks and potentially use a lightweight bike CAT)  so at least come MOT time I wont have any problems, already a challenge to put the Lotus CAT back in and out Just for MOT ;) never mind, its only once a year... If I build the system correctly I should also be able to have either a CAT, CRP or SCRP in for those quieter track days.. :)

Paul, so if the car only revs to 9000 ;)  were looking at 3/4 that for the noise test? if so I may just make it through... will definately make it through with a cat in place.. How did you get yours through or are you running a pre-CAT requirement engine.. at this rate it may be worthwhile buying a new engine, the amount of money its going to cost to get this lump through SVA..

Yep, mines a pre Aug 95 blade so only has to meet the 3.5%CO2's and 1200 PPM HC's and it walked it with the foam filter and no rejetting which makes it run very lean. Obviously only to get to anf from the SVA. Come MOT time in 3 years it's then a visible smoke test :D
