What does the WSCC collective make of the Jaguar C-X16 then?

Jag Coupe Concept

(There will be a convertible too BTW.....)  :t-up:

PS It's not really a 911 rival, it's a Cayman/Boxster rival.... :D

I've always been a Jaguar fan having owned a couple myself in the past.  The Jaguar bosses are well known for abandoning projects though, I hope this comes to fruition.

ETA: it's not the John Inman Ltd edition either... Even if he was known to be fond of a nunney  :p

i like the idea of a push to pass button :)

I think you still have to evaluate the car you are passing and turn the steering wheel a couple of times. :D

I love the interior particularly!

But still not convinced - I think you should bring one around here on your way home after work for a closer inspection, mate.  I'll even stand you a round at the pub...go on, you know it makes sense.

Oh, and this from the Car & Driver web article on it:

"What’s new here is under the aluminum (sic) bodywork. Jaguar is in desperate need of a new V-6—the Ford Duratec–based boat anchor was dropped from the U.S. but soldiers on in Europe..."

Mmmmm...popcorn sales....

Unnecessary gizmo IMO. The only thing you should have to push to pass is the accelerator pedal.

Car on the whole is quite nice looking. Not that I'll ever own one, so my opinion is irrelevant really

No it's not.....

Part of the difficulty here is convincing the powers that be that Jaguar needs "re-aligning" in the market place.

There's a strong push at the moment to emphasise the sporting traits and heritage of the brand....

Personally I'm not hugely in favour of marketing clinics aimed at existing customers.....IMHO that's the road to mundanity and moribund boring cars that don't inspire people to want them IYSWIM... :D

Opinions from driving enthusiasts in other segments of the market are more relevant I reckon...

Personally I belive the best and most interesting cars in the auto industry have traditionally come from small teams where the focused vision of a few petrolheads has been less diluted by bean counters and visionless engineers who want to stick with what they know...

Personally I reckon the KERS aspect will be a totally forgotten irrelevance by the time the car comes to market...It's part of a "buzz" created for the motor shows... :p
