deanoecosse Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 classic final line from the commentator "how can Danny sit down with balls that big?" Quote
tkm_dave Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Helping put in to context the difficulty of the conditions of this track; in the Junior race (only one year younger than Danny Hart in this video) there were NINE riders that had to be helicopter'd off the mountain because of their injuries after crashing! Mark (smokey mow) Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Total respect I used to ride DH before I bought the Westfield and the hightlight for me was taking on the UCI world cup course in Fort William 4 years back. After 2 weeks of riding the course the best I could manage was just under 7 minutes which was twice what the pros were doing It takes some balls on courses like these to stay off the brakes and hit the obstacles with 110% comitment, I wasn't that brave I couldn't work out in the end whether the adrenaline rush I got from it was fear or the buzz and excitment. I still miss that bike Quote
Dibby Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 They let juniors race Champery? Not surprised there was 9 helicopter trips. We had a lad lifted off an Alp with a broken arm, collarbone, rib and a punctured lung. Nice one Smoky Mow, can't beat a single pivot frame for simplicity. I ride a Specialized BigHit myself And the obligatory showoff shots .. Quote
Fat Albert Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 I have to say that looked pretty special, reminded me of Vouilloz in his prime Met Rob Warner a few times while following the DH circuit with my son, was never sure that the bits between his ears were connected together the same way twice, Steve Peat was much more laid back The boy rode one of these Quote

Dibby Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 There's no photoshopping going on there you cheeky get! Last 2 are in the Alps, not too far from the Champery course. Quote
Carl Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 There's no photoshopping going on there you cheeky get! Full respect in that case Quote
Dibby Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 There's no photoshopping going on there you cheeky get! Last 2 are in the Alps, not too far from the Champery course. And to prove the lack of photoshoppery, here's the video of the road gap Quote
