Matta Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Hi all - Any suggestions for a realistically priced courier to ship 6 wheels/tyres from Worthing to Scotland? The bloke that's shipping them for me is getting silly quotes around £300! Thanks, Matt Quote
Davep1 Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Matt, I have used Paisley freight a couple of times - very good service, and very good price. https://www.paisleyfreight.com/ Cheers, Dave (Dumfries) Quote

Rab (bombero) Reid Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Hi all - Any suggestions for a realistically priced courier to ship 6 wheels/tyres from Worthing to Scotland? The bloke that's shipping them for me is getting silly quotes around £300! Thanks, Matt Matt, google for reviews re Paisley Freight - I've used them and they were 'okay' but a nightmare to contact if you need updates, etc on parcel info. The guy has a mobile number and rarely answers it .. I can't comment on the others Quote
frag68 Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Matt, Hold off just now. I have just emailed a chap in London about a replacement engine as I blew mine up last night. He is also selling a box and exhaust which again I need, so if he responds and we get a deal, I can collect at the weekend hopefully and deliver them to Boness on Sunday. Thats the plan, but I will post again when I hear back. Fraser Quote
Wile E. Coyote Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Recently bought a set wheels and tyres I called the nearest (to the vendor) family run haulage firm - vendor dropped them off there, company wrapped them onto a pallet with loads of extra cardboard to protect them, then shipped them to me on a 2 day service. £60 all in. I think they were routed via palletline in the end, but arrived in exactly same condition as shipped. Edit: the bigger haulage firms weren't interested - hence the suggestion of family owned outfits (suspect I paid slightly more than their business rates, but still cheaper/easier than driving down to get them myself). JeffC Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I used apc for years when i was selling wheels, they used to charge me £30 for 4 x 16" wheels and tyres next day service in mainland uk. just stick cardboard over the face and stick each wheel in a bin bag and job done Quote
