cast iron Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 After a good few years as AO I find its time to move on and stand down. Mainly because AO is supposed to well Organise, and as racing has taken up all my time Ive not organised a lot. Many a weekend I've thought great weekend for a run out but I was in the garage sorting the latest that racing chucked at me. Im sorry Ive not managed to sort much out recently especially with the influx of new road car owning westy members that have shown up recently. Ive also struggled to get an up to date membership list from the club. Leaving members to have to come and find me is not good IMHO its difficult to court opinion if you cant find your members! Anyway on the whole the North East side has a great set of regular members and as I said its starting to see more members coming in. So whats going to happen - well its all going back into the capable hands of the founding NE AO - Nick Algar Nick certainly knows his way round and will recognise the regulars. If I can take this opportunity to thank the faithful for their support and thank Nick and wish him the best of luck in re taking the reigns and I hope he can provide the activities and events the members deserve. Nick Algar - Competition Secretary Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 I am sure all the NE guys would like to join me in thanking Mark for the great job he has done over the year's. It's a difficult job to do, especially when you are competing a lot. And Mark stepped back up to take over when Jeff had to give it up, so he had two long stints keeping the NE Area going. Thanks Mark As Mark has said it can be difficult if you don't have regular contact with people, so to that end can anyone who does not come regularly to the North East events please get in contact with me so that I can keep you informed about what is going on. Look forward to seeing you all soon. Nick Quote

I had you down for the Job captain, something to do in your retirement I've never seen myself in that role.. I'm too much of a shrinking violet. Don't care who's at the helm, 100% support from me. A list by tonight would be good Well there's one event we can cross off the list... "Playskool coffee morning".... have just been round and sampled one of Luke's brews, well, I think he said it was tea! Quote
Nick Algar - Competition Secretary Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Luke makes a brew. Know exactly what you mean. But count yourself lucky he actually made you one. I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times he has made me one Quote

JeffC Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Cooper is the brew master although the Captain always opts for tea when he visits as he must fear my ability Quote
Scottish Bloke Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 +1 for Mark, well done mate and +1 with bells on for Luke's coffee Quote
