Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 I think you'll find children who are so small that they require a booster seat will fit nicely inside the boot box once their legs are folded agains their chests. Tell them they're playing "Illegal Immigrant" and not to say anything or even breathe too heavily so they won't get "caught" until you get to your destination. Simples! Good grief man, you're spoiling them letting them ride in the nice comfy boot box like that. Play the game properly, at least make them cling to the underside of the car. Oh how everyone laughs when you shoot over the sleeping policeman like an Olympic skier down a mogul field. Quote

What size drain holes do you need to get rid of the inevitable sweetcorn? Good and sensible question. The answer is none - that's why the boot box comes out so easily - so it can be hosed out. If you put drain holes in it, the sweetcorn bits would get stuck on the rear suspension and frame, promoting rust and making a mess. Just don't feed the little bread-snapper until after the journey is complete. If they start complaining, use earplugs. Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Ah, easy peasy; what you need is a hose pipe and one of these, clicky then it becomes a nice simple job! Quote

It's true, great for old git's with bad backs too, so much easier checking your tyre pressures when they're at a nice handy working height. No more scrabbling round on your hands and knees. Quote

b16gnr Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Back to the child seat, i use 3 strips of soft high density foam, its firm enough to hold them tightly against the harness and soft enough to mould them into the seat. its much better then a child booster as it not only lifts them into the lap belt but also enables the shoulder straps to be done up tight. http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z373/b16gnr/photo7-1.jpg http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z373/b16gnr/photo6.jpg Quote
Pistol Pete Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 I got one of these, fit nicely in a narrow and could be easily shaped for moulded seats. E-bay Booster Seat Quote
combatsapph Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 You can buy inflatable booster seats now which are ideal for travelling abroad and renting a car.Bubblebum So far, I've not found a booster seat that fits the WF race seat (booster seat is too wide) but I've been meaning to try out this inflatable. First time I took the missus's 6yr old out in the Westy and then braked she almost disappeared underneath the 4 point seatbelts and into the footwell! Just bought one of those and can confirm that it fits a Westfield Race seat with four point harnesses perfectly. Tried my 4.5yr old in it and whilst it sorts the lap belt positioning out what it doesn't do is sort the shoulder straps out - my lads quite small for his age (18kg) and the shoulder straps seem to want to "roll off" his shoulders. I think by the time we'll get to next spring I'll be happy to take him out in the Westy once he's "broadened" out a bit. Quote
