mark.anson Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 This is an immaculate car and top spec for the money. Good luck with the sale big lad Mark
Mark Stanton Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Good Luck John - that is one very good and well put together car
Nick Algar - Competition Secretary Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Way toooooo cheap John, that's a great car anyway, but at that money it's an absolute bargain
funbobby Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 I agree - its an awesome car but way too cheap for the spec. You could add another 3-4 g's easily.
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 WOW Big fish. A number of things 1) Way too cheap! 2) A very nice car 3) You will miss not fettling something Good luck with the sale if its what you really want to do
Bananaman Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 That's a LOT of car with some very nice bits on it for not much money.... I'm betting it sells within the week!
funbobby Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 I'll be betting Toy Box have already bought it ;-)
Barry Ashcroft Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Way to cheap if I had not just bought a Porsche I'd be on my way to pick it up.
Captain Colonial Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Not sure if anyone has said this yet, but... THIS IS TOO CHEAP! What is it this year with people selling their Westies for under or way under market value? It does anyone trying to sell their own car at a fair price no favours at all. (Not me, not selling!)
lippydave Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Chaps, not wishing to contradict on the price issue, but it really is a buyers market at the moment.... Problem isn't the pricing of of other Westies, but more the issue of what else is currently available for similar money... It does look to be a very nice sorted example, but without wishing to be rude, how many buyers are there for a 3.5 Rover on twin SU's? Personally I think the pricing is about right....

Fight, Fight, Fiiiighhht. I know what you are saying that SU carbs not everyones cup of tea but I suspect they require less fiddling. This said look at the spec of the rest of the engine, pocketed pistons, ARPs, tuft'd crank, etc. I'd rather buy this and change the carbs than buy something that is running the carb of my choice or injection that does not have all the right internal bits.
John Fisher Posted August 18, 2011 Author Posted August 18, 2011 Adam, You mean something like this The present setup is so much more easier to live with on the road Also - it was a bit of challenge I fancied having a crack at. SU carbs - very underrated! Fish
KerryS Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Almost enough to tempt me back into Westy ownership this. Lovely car, seen it at Curborough a few times.
