I have the Desire S too, can't think of anything more you could want from a phone.

This made me chuckle

don't get the Motorola Atrix. Great concept but lots of bugs and doesn't work as well as it should.

Add one vote for Android, my Galaxy SII has been a revelation since I got it a couple of months ago. Great screen indoors, sadly no mobile phone has a decent outdoor screen.

My choice was between GSII & the Sensation, went for the Galaxy mostly because it's much thinner and lighter, everything else was pretty much identical.

Didn't want an I-Phone 'cos I didn't want to be tied to i-tunes and not have Flash Player Porn for web sites.

Fixed that for you  :p  :D

;)

You don't have to be tied to iTunes, there are a million and one programs out there to replace it. Or jailbreak it and get rid of itunes altogether.

... after all, we're a kit car community, we don't settle for factory settings and like customising things, right.

Trouble with the iphones is the lack of technical information, they sell on media buzz and hype, everyone wants one because their mates have one and they're cool, but don't know what it does.

iPhone 5 is about to hit the shops, but who knows whether it's worth upgrading or not?

I've got a Samsung Galaxy S2 and it truly knocks the s**t out of the iPhone in terms of....well, everything...except battery life, which can be hugely variable depending on what you're doing.  On the same network in the same locations it gets a far stronger signal and everything just seems massively quicker.  The quality of the HD video is also very impressive.

iPhone 5 could be released next month, but could just as likely be next september....there's also rumours of a iPhone 4GS as a "gap filler"

Unfortunately you have to sacrifice battery life if you have a smart phone. Either have lots of chargers around (I have 1 at work 1 in the car and 3 at home), buy a phone and a spare battery (rules an iphone out) or buy an none smart phone that the battery will last all day on.

Samsung Galaxy S2 and a spare battery for a fiver of the bay. Brilliant piece of kit. Got 500mb internet free and the phone for £62.00 upgrade price from Orange who I've been with since the Hutchison days.
